Feeling a strong urge to write poetry, Bian Cai master wrote a poem and presented it to Su Dongpo. Till sunset, Su Dongpo had fully enjoyed tea and wanted to go back to his home, and Bian Cai saw him off along. The two men walked and chatted in the fragrant tea gardens. Unconsciously, Bian Cai master forgot his regulation that he would never see somebody off farther than the Tiger Stream and saw Su off to the Tiger Stream bridge. This anecdote became a favorite tale since then, and the Dragon Well was known by more and more people. Since the Ming and Qing Dynasties, Dragon Well tea gained its reputation rapidly. Yuan Mei, in his poem, commented that Dragon Well tea was with the highest quality among the myriad green teas in Hangzhou. Qianlong Emperor personally conferred the 18 tea bushes in front of the Hu Gong Temple at the foot of the Shifeng Mountain in Dragon Well village. As one of the ten famous tea in the World Expo in Shanghai, Dragon Well tea became world-renowned.??
